Baptism

Hello friends :)
First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends and family. I hope you had lots of delicious turkey and fun times with family. I was super blessed to celebrate my first thanksgiving here. Usually, our kitchen staff makes us some turkey and pumpkin pie sometime in November and it's yummy. But this year, one of the base staff (KIM, you're amazing!!) wanted to actually celebrate the day!! So, she invited about 20 of us staff and a few other guests to a potluck Thanksgiving. We all made special dishes and gathered for food and fellowship. We ate outside on a long table and ate until we were stuffed. We went around and shared what we are thankful for. It was a really special day to me.

Also, this week's speaker was Mark Parker. He speaks on the Lordship of Christ. In reality, Jesus is already Lord and King. It's about recognizing Him as our Lord and to start LIVING FOR HIM!!! It's a pretty powerful week and the Holy Spirit speaks through Mark to shake people up a bit. On the last day, we had 18 people who wanted to be baptised. Some had never been baptised before. A few had been baptised as a child and wanted to make an adult confirmation of their FAITH. One student explained that he has never done an alter call or ever spoke out that Jesus is Lord of his life. I always wonder why a student would spend so much money and fly halfway across the world to do a DTS, when they have never fully known or chosen Jesus. This student's act of faith was definitely him choosing Jesus and there was a big celebration as he made his FIRST EVER declaration of Jesus Christ being his Lord and then was baptised. Praise Jesus!!!
